Iota Copy Markdown for LLM, PDF, Word, Email Export icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy plugin for Confluence allows you to copy any page content with just a click, keeping the original formatting intact. It also helps you share content easily by automatically opening your email client with the content ready to be sent. If you prefer, you can paste the copied content into a Word document, and it will look just like the Confluence page. With Iota Copy your copied content won’t change a iota.
Installation You can quickly install the application in just three simple steps 1. Navigate to icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy in the Atlassian Marketplace. 2. Click on the Get it now button. 3. Follow the prompts on the window that appears, and click Get it now . That's it! The macro is now installed and ready to use immediately.
Quick Start There are two ways to use icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy Using Iota Copy button located under the page header Open any Confluence page and click the icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy button under the page header. This will open a menu where you can choose to Copy the page to your clipboard Copy page and open your email client Export the page as a file (Word) Open the print dialog with the page contents prepared for PDF export or print the page Copy the page as clean Markdown for ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini, or any other LLM Save the page as a Markdown file ( ) for Git repositories, docs sites, or archives Branded PDF and Word exports enable the Title page, header & footer checkbox to add a cover page, running header, and footer with your logo to PDF and Word exports. Set your title, upload your logo, add a copyright line, and save the style as a named preset. Variables like page titles, dates, and space names auto-fill at export time. Presets can be kept personal or shared instance-wide so the whole team exports from the same template. Email presets when copying for an email client, save your To / Cc / Subject / Body combinations as reusable presets. Keep them personal or share with the team for repeat sends like daily standups or release notes. Jira reports (from v11) connect Iota Copy to your Jira instance to include Jira work items, sprints, and reports embedded on Confluence pages in any PDF, Word, or Markdown export. Authorize Jira access during installation or later from Connected apps in your admin area. Works on classic Confluence pages and the new Live docs format. Adding icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy as a Macro (legacy) This method offers more configuration options and can be used in page templates with saved settings. Follow these steps to add the macro Open Confluence page you want to export in Edit mode. Type , find and select icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy macro. Alternatively you can click the icon (Insert more contents) in the page's toolbar, then find and select icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy macro. Click Update to publish the page with macro. After that Copy page to clipboard button will appear on the page. Just click on the button and your page will be copied . Now you can paste it into Word or your email client.
Use Cases Repeating emails You can use icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy for email templating in your internal or user documentation. For example, you may have a template for an email to the tech support. To do so, just add icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy macro to the page, check Open email client checkbox, fill To , Cc , Bcc , Subject and Body parameters and enjoy opening prepopulated email in one click! [!TIP] Tip if your email template should include Confluence UI elements or complex layout, just leave Body parameter empty and add your template directly on the page. The macro will copy your page content, so that after email opening you will be able to paste it into your email template. Meeting notes Add icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy to the meeting notes page template and enjoy writing and sharing meeting notes in a single click! You can also add icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy to other page templates, from architecture decisions discussions to business review presentations. [!NOTE] Note during template page creation icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy can’t communicate with Confluence, so you will receive notification about it. You can safely ignore it and proceed with template population and further usage. Complex page sharing icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy allows you to copy even complex layout with a tons of pictures, macros and layout sections. So, if you’ve created a beautiful Confluence page, but struggle with sharing, don’t hesitate to try icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy . Complex layout PDF exporting The default Confluence PDF export may break the layout of pages containing wide tables or complex designs, while the default browser print option often adds unnecessary elements to the page. Using the icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy "Save as PDF / Print" functionality allows you to configure export parameters, including Layout and Paper Size , ensuring that your content is properly formatted. Jira Integration Starting with version 11, icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy can connect to your Jira instance and pull Jira reports straight into your exports. Every Jira macro embedded on a Confluence page is now resolved at export time and rendered into the resulting PDF, Word document, Markdown file, or email body, with the same data your team sees in Confluence. There are two ways to enable the connection. The simplest is to authorize Jira access during installation, when the installer offers it as an optional step. If you skipped that step, or installed Iota Copy before version 11, you can connect later from your Atlassian admin area open Connected apps, find icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy , and grant access from there. Once connected, every Jira report on a Confluence page is automatically included in any export icon{name="custom IotaCopy"} Iota Copy produces. No per-page configuration, no extra clicks. The data, columns, and filters defined in the macro are preserved in the output. For example, add a Jira work items report filtered by your current sprint to a Confluence page and send the complete Sprint report to your stakeholders in seconds. The exported document carries the full list of issues with their statuses, assignees, and links back to Jira. Stakeholders can review the report without leaving their inbox. Troubleshooting Text formatting is lost, when pasting into Word ----------------------------------------------- Please check, that you are pasting using “Keep source formatting“ option. Icons are broken in PDF export ------------------------------ Icons can rarely break during the PDF export, just reopen Iota Copy app and try PDF export again. Please reach our team, if you see that the issue persists.
