Works on every plan, with or without Rovo. Reminders arrive through Jira's standard channels, the notification bell and email. Runs entirely on Atlassian infrastructure with Atlassian's own hosted model. Your data never leaves Atlassian.
Installation You can quickly install the application in just three simple steps 1. Navigate to icon{name="custom RemindMe"} RemindMe in the Atlassian Marketplace. 2. Click on the Get it now button. 3. Follow the prompts on the window that appears, and click Get it now . That's it! The macro is now installed and ready to use immediately.
Creating reminders There are three ways to set a reminder the panel on a work item, a comment command, and the Rovo agent. They all end the same way. When the time comes, icon{name="custom RemindMe"} RemindMe posts a comment that @-mentions the people the reminder is for, and Jira notifies them through the notification bell and email, the same way it notifies about everything else. From the panel Open any work item and find the icon{name="custom RemindMe"} RemindMe section on the right side, next to Automation. 1. Press Set a reminder . 2. The form arrives already filled in. icon{name="custom RemindMe"} RemindMe reads the work item, everything from due dates and custom fields to the freshest comment, and prefills what to remind about, who to remind, and a few times that fit this ticket. 3. Agree with one click on a suggested time, or pick Custom and choose any date and time. 4. Change anything you like before saving the text, the people, the moment. The suggestions are drafts, never decisions. Nothing is set until you press the button. From a comment Write a comment that starts with , followed by when, then a colon, then what RemindMe replies in the same thread to confirm, and the reminder later lands in that thread too, next to the discussion that caused it. A few rules worth knowing The colon separates the time from the text. Without a colon, icon{name="custom RemindMe"} RemindMe works out which words are the time and keeps the rest as the reminder text. If there is nothing left, it reads the work item and writes a sensible title itself. Mention teammates in the command and the reminder goes to them. Write "me" or mention nobody and it is yours. Times are read in your timezone, the one on your Jira profile. "9 am" means your 9 am. When a recipient sits in a different timezone, the confirmation shows both local times. The confirmation can take a few minutes to appear . Jira hands new comments to apps with a delay that is sometimes several minutes long and is outside RemindMe's control. The delay never shifts your reminder "in 15 minutes" counts from the moment you wrote the comment, not from the moment RemindMe heard about it. If the time cannot be read at all, the reminder is set for tomorrow at 9 00 so nothing is lost, and the confirmation says so. Edit it if you meant something else. typed as plain text works exactly like , on every plan. With the Rovo agent On sites with Rovo, icon{name="custom RemindMe"} RemindMe also appears in the @-mention picker. Tag it the way you would tag a colleague and write the same request in plain words. The agent answers "Reminder set." and the app does the rest. [!WARNING] Note that Rovo agent requests consume your site's Rovo credits under Atlassian's pricing. The typed commands above do the same job on every plan and consume none. When it fires [!NOTE] Delivery happens through Jira's standard channels. The reminder arrives as a comment that @-mentions every recipient, threaded under the original conversation when there was one, and Jira turns that into a bell notification and an email. Reminders fire on a five-minute schedule, so expect the nudge within five minutes of the chosen time.
Managing Reminders Everything you set, and everything set for you, can be watched and changed in two places. The panel on a work item shows what concerns that one ticket. The My Reminders page shows everything across every project. On the work item The icon{name="custom RemindMe"} RemindMe section on the right side of a work item lists the upcoming reminders that concern you on this ticket, each with its date, its text and the people it will reach. Every card carries its controls Edit opens the same form the reminder was created with. Change the text, the people or the time. Editing belongs to whoever created the reminder. Snooze moves the reminder forward by 30 minutes, an hour, a day or a week. It belongs to everyone the reminder involves, creator and recipients alike, because whoever has to act is the one who knows more time is needed. Remove deletes the reminder. Like editing, it belongs to the creator. The list keeps itself fresh. A reminder created from a comment appears on its own, without reloading the page. The My Reminders page Open Apps → icon{name="custom RemindMe"} RemindMe My Reminders in the Jira sidebar. This is the whole picture every project, every reminder that concerns you, in three sections. Overdue is what slipped, Upcoming is what is coming, Delivered is what already fired, kept visible for two weeks so a vacation does not erase it. Each section folds away when a long list is in the way, and the count stays visible while folded. Three tabs split the page by role. All is everything. For me is where you are a recipient. Set by me is what you created, whoever it is aimed at. A reminder you set for yourself appears under both, which is correct. When the page holds enough to be worth narrowing, filters appear by due date (today, tomorrow, the next seven days), by person, and by work item. They only ever offer values that exist on the page, so a filter can never come back empty. Switching tabs clears them, so nothing stays filtered invisibly. Cards work the same here as on the work item edit and remove for the creator, snooze for everyone involved. On a delivered reminder, snooze means "remind me again", which turns a nudge that came too early into one that comes back when it is useful.
